Lithuanian ambassador to leave Georgia January
Author: Liene Veide
Lithuanian government has made a decision to call back to Vilnius Lithuanian Ambassador to Tbilisi Mečys Laurinkus. He will stop performing his duties from January 29.
The decision was taken after a bitter exchange of comments between Laurinkkus and Lithuania’s President Dalia Grybauskaite.
The country’s constitution says that diplomatic envoys are supposed to be established or called off by the president as advised by the government.
Lithuanian Embassy to Georgia representatives told Georgia Today that the only person who can make any comments is Laimonas Talatkelpsha and he was not available for comment.
